ARIA Resort & Casino
The most technologically sophisticated resort on the Strip. The rooms are exceptional. The casino is serious. The pool is excellent. The location is slightly south of center.
"The former Monte Carlo reinvented itself as a lifestyle resort. The smoke-free casino is a genuine differentiator. Eataly is the best food hall in Vegas."
Overall Rating
Park MGM opened in 2018 as a complete conversion of the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. MGM Resorts invested $550 million in the transformation, replacing the Monte Carlo's generic resort aesthetic with a lifestyle-focused design inspired by New York's NoMad hotel brand. The result is one of the most distinctive resorts on the south Strip.
The defining feature: Park MGM is the only smoke-free casino on the Strip. If cigarette smoke is a dealbreaker for you, this is your resort. The casino is 100,000 square feet of smoke-free gambling — a genuine differentiator in an industry where smoking is still the norm.
Eataly — the Italian food market and restaurant complex — is the best food hall in Vegas. The NoMad hotel occupies the top four floors of the tower with its own check-in, butler service, and rooftop pool. The Aria Express Tram connects Park MGM to Aria, Crystals, Bellagio, and Vdara.
Park MGM is the only smoke-free casino on the Las Vegas Strip. If cigarette smoke is a dealbreaker for you, this is your resort. The casino floor is 100,000 square feet of smoke-free gambling.
Eataly at Park MGM is the best food hall in Vegas — Italian market, multiple restaurants, a bakery, a cheese counter, and a wine shop. It is worth a visit even if you are not staying here.
The NoMad hotel occupies the top four floors of Park MGM with its own check-in, butler service, and rooftop pool. The rooms are exceptional. The price premium is significant but worth it for a special occasion.
Well-designed rooms with a modern, residential aesthetic. The 2018 conversion updated everything. The NoMad rooms (top four floors) are exceptional — larger, better designed, with butler service. Standard Park MGM rooms are solid and well-maintained.
How this resort holds up in peak Vegas summer (June–September)
Park MGM's connection to the Aria Express Tram network (via Crystals) is a significant summer advantage. The pool is small but less crowded than neighbors. The NoMad rooftop bar is a good evening spot when temperatures drop.
The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino opened June 21, 1996, as a joint venture between MGM Grand and Mirage Resorts. It was positioned as a mid-tier resort between the luxury properties and the budget options. MGM Resorts closed the Monte Carlo in 2018 and converted it to Park MGM, reopening in stages throughout 2018. The $550 million conversion included a complete redesign of the casino floor, rooms, and public spaces.
Non-smokers. Eataly fans. NoMad hotel guests who want the boutique experience. Guests who want the Aria tram network access at a slightly lower price than ARIA or Cosmo. The vibe is more lifestyle hotel than traditional casino resort.

The most technologically sophisticated resort on the Strip. The rooms are exceptional. The casino is serious. The pool is excellent. The location is slightly south of center.

The biggest casino resort in Vegas. The biggest casino floor. The most restaurants. The most rooms. The most everything. Also the most walking.

The Manhattan skyline replica is the best exterior on the Strip. The interior is a labyrinth. The roller coaster is still running.
