Golden Nugget
The class of Fremont Street. The pool has a shark tank in the middle of it. The rooms are the best in downtown Vegas (after Circa).
"The first ground-up downtown resort in decades. Stadium Swim is the most impressive pool concept in Vegas. Adults only, by design."
Overall Rating
Circa Resort & Casino opened in October 2020 as the first ground-up downtown resort built in Las Vegas in decades. Developer Derek Stevens (who also owns the D and Golden Gate) built Circa as an adults-only resort — no guests under 21 — which is unique in Vegas.
The centerpiece is Stadium Swim — a five-pool amphitheater with a 40-foot screen showing sports and entertainment. It is the most impressive pool concept in Vegas. The sportsbook is enormous and excellent. The rooms are well-designed and modern. The rooftop Legacy Club has excellent views of the Fremont Street Experience.
Circa is the best resort in downtown Las Vegas, and it is not close. If you want the downtown experience — Fremont Street, old Vegas energy, lower prices — Circa is where you stay.
Stadium Swim is five pools arranged in an amphitheater with a 40-foot screen showing sports and entertainment. It is open year-round (heated in winter). There is nothing else like it in Vegas.
Circa is adults-only (21+). This is a deliberate choice that changes the entire atmosphere. No children, no strollers, no family-oriented chaos. If you are an adult who wants an adult resort experience in downtown Vegas, this is the answer.
Circa's sportsbook is enormous and excellent — multiple screens, comfortable seating, and Stadium Swim integration. If sports betting is part of your Vegas experience, Circa's sportsbook is worth the trip downtown.
Modern, well-designed rooms with excellent technology. The views of the Fremont Street Experience from upper floors are excellent. The rooms are among the best in downtown Vegas by a significant margin.
Stadium Swim is the most impressive pool concept in Vegas. Five pools arranged in an amphitheater configuration with a 40-foot screen showing sports and entertainment. Open year-round (heated in winter). The combination of pool and sportsbook is unique. Book a cabana in advance on weekends.
How this resort holds up in peak Vegas summer (June–September)
Stadium Swim is the best summer pool experience in Vegas — a 40,000 sq ft pool amphitheater with a 143-foot screen. Adults-only means it never reaches the chaos of Strip dayclubs. Downtown's slightly lower temperatures (less pavement heat) are a bonus.
Circa opened October 28, 2020, on the site of the former Mermaids Casino and Las Vegas Club. Developer Derek Stevens demolished the existing buildings and built Circa from the ground up — the first new ground-up downtown resort since the Plaza opened in 1971. The adults-only policy was a deliberate choice to differentiate Circa from the family-friendly Fremont Street properties.
Adults who want the downtown Vegas experience at the highest quality level available. Sports bettors (the sportsbook is exceptional). Pool enthusiasts. Guests who find the Strip overwhelming. The vibe is adult, energetic, and downtown-oriented.
Rooftop bar and lounge with panoramic views of the Fremont Street Experience. More of an upscale rooftop bar than a traditional nightclub, but the views are exceptional and the atmosphere is the best in downtown Vegas.
